In celebration of Luxury Breaks South West’s 1st birthday, we are proud to feature one of our favorite Wineries. The winner of our competition receives two bottles of Amelia Park wine upon arrival and an additional discount if they choose to purchase more wines directly from the Cellar Door. The stunning winery is well worth a visit. A scenic drive down the winding Caves Road brings you to this grand estate. Amelia Park has a WOW factor. From the manicured entrance to the impressive Cellar Door, with its stunning timber door that opens automatically to reveal dramatic picture windows overlooking lush valleys and rows of vines.
Bookings are essential for the exclusive private tasting held in the elegant wood-lined room with a view of the Wilyabrup Valley. Or, arrive to sample their amazing range at the main sampling counter. Amelia Park Collection comprises a range of premium wines produced from the finest grapes in the region. The Reserve Collection wines are made from the best grapes from a vintage that were identified early for separate processing. These wines can be stored for up to 10 years.
Jeremy Gordon is the talented man who created these incredible wines. He has won numerous awards, including the prestigious Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy, the James Halliday Challenge for Chardonnay, and other national and international ones. Jeremy Gordon believes that fine wines are made from a blend of traditional methods and modern techniques. His passion is winemaking, and he crafts each bottle by hand to capture the essence.
Why did you decide to become a Vigneron?
Growing up, I always had an interest in agriculture. While studying commerce, I found a part-time job with a well-known winery for a vintage. I completed my first harvest with them almost 30 years ago. I immediately felt a connection with the viticulture and growing side of grapes, from harvesting to winemaking.
Why are wines from the Wilyabrup area so special?
Great wines are ultimately determined by the grapes that they grow. Wilyabrup is a place that has the perfect ingredients to produce high-quality grapes. Margaret River’s consistently high-quality wine is a result of a combination of climate, soils, varieties, and management. The wines are a reflection of its uniqueness.
Who or what has been the greatest inspiration in your winemaking journey?
Many people have helped me on my journey of winemaking. The sharing of knowledge and assistance in the wine industry, whether good or bad, is a great thing. The challenge of each new vintage and my desire to make better wines every year are what inspire me the most. The journey continues and is always exciting.
Amelia Park was named Best Cellar Door of Margaret River for the third year in a row by Gourmet Traveller Wine Magazine. This is a must-do experience when you are on a luxury down south break.
