Tasting Notes

This impressive wine is a sparkling Shiraz which exhibits a deep garnets colour instilled by the Barossa itself with the fine beading of quality sparkling wine.

The palate begins on the nose with lifted black fruits and bramble fruit with a subtle hint of chocolate and cloves. The first sip reveals a full and textural suite of elements like flavours of Morello cherry and chocolate alongside sprightly acidity and long clean finish.

91 Points Mike Bennie , The Wine Front

“"One of the best things you can do with Barossa shiraz is make it fizzy and cold. Just kidding. Or am I? Bust out the Soda Streams! Anyway. This from the good folks at Schild Estate. This is a lip-smacking expression. Big in spice, woody and clovey, with lashings of dark fruit, choc-berry characters and a hint of malt. The ... palate is creamy but set apart with its crunchy fizz and almost tactile, twiggy, clove spice notes. It’s a bit short in flavour, but what’s there I kind of wanted to drink more of. And more. The other key feature is it’s not overly sweet, which is nice too. I liked the vibe here. Refreshing, medium weight sparkling red of high spiciness." Show more Show less
