Tasting Notes

Here is a wine that defines the ‘Syrah’ style in Australia. Sourced from the Hilltops region – a small wine region just outside of Young, NSW. The vineyard sits at around 500 meters above sea level with a climate considered ‘continental’. The climate affords the fruit an opportunity to slowly develop its refined and sophisticated palate. More savoury in style with blood plums, spice and a hint of liquorice on the nose.

95 Points James Halliday , Wine Companion

“Bright crimson-purple, it has a highly fragrant and expressive bouquet of red and black cherries, blood plums and spice; the medium-bodied palate is supple, long and perfectly balanced, fresh acidity and fine tannins the stapes for a long life. ”

93+ Points Campbell Mattinson , The Wine Front

“It’s as neat as a hotel bed. Red/black cherry and peanut notes, pulled tight, with smoky oak and assorted dried herb/floral characters parading through the finish. It’s mid-weight at most, is juicy enough but is mostly savoury and dry. It will be a much better drink at maturity than it is young. An individual expression o ... f Hilltops shiraz/syrah.
