Tasting Notes

From one of our brilliant winemakers - Stella Bella Wines - we've put together a mixed red wine pack so you have the opportunity to experience the flavours that only the south Margaret River can give.

"The hallmark for me of southern Magaret River Cabernet is violet and perfume. It just has this beautiful lift out of the glass." - Luke Joliffe, Chief Winemaker, Stella Bella Wines

In this case, you get two bottles of each the Sucfizzle Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon - Raspberry, Cherry and velvety tannin - the Stella Bella Cabernet Merlot - a bright and juicy red with red currants, plum and milk chocolate on the palate - and the Stella Bella Cabernet Sauvignon - elegant and powerful with black berry and blue berries.

Stella Bella Wines 2013 Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon

The Stella Bella 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is rich and luscious. A bouquet of cassis, redcurrant, maraschino cherry, tobacco and sage is complemented by... hints of mocha and vanilla.

With its deep crimson, purple hue and rich, powerful palate it is a true exemplar of Luke Joliffe and his team’s ability to produce this elegant varietal.

94 Points Gary Walsh , The Wine Front

“Raspberry and blackberry, aniseed perfume, chocolate. Medium bodied, silky smooth, chocolate dipped red and black fruits with a little spice and dried herb. Clean acidity, a little tweak of amaro herb on the finish, or bitter chocolate maybe, but just lovely from front to back anyway. Delicious value laden Cabernet. ”

92 Points James Halliday , Wine Companion

“A touch of colour development; a medium-bodied Cabernet with the usual Stella Bella good varietal fruit expression, redcurrant and blackcurrant cassis framed by carefully managed oak and ripe tannins, stuff that Margaret River produces with regularity.”

Stella Bella Wines 2015 Margaret River Cabernet Merlot

This red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from Stella Bella wines is one of the best expressions of the Margaret River. Aromas of red currants, ...dark cherry, chocolate, cranberries and perfumed with violets suggest the quality of the palate which is laced with dark juicy fruits and a soft and supple texture. The wine expression finishes with a fine powdery tannin.

The king of grapes from one of Australia's greatest Cabernet wine regions.

94 Points James Halliday , Wine Companion

“The perfumed bouquet sets the theme and course of a quality blend reflecting this varietal origins and birthplace with equal confidence. The blackcurrant fruit of the palate has rifle shots of red berries, tannins also allowed to make their mark, oak neatly controlled.”

91+ Points Campbell Mattinson , The Wine Front

“This takes a little time to open up and reveal its true self but give it a chance to breathe and it shines. A deceptive lacing of fine-grained tannin, inputs of blackcurrant and chocolate, an earthen note and a whisper of dried tobacco. Everything you could hope and want at the price. Champion reliability. Should go okay in the cellar over the medium term too.”

Stella Bella Wines 2013 Suckfizzle Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon

This medium bodied Cabernet Sauvignon opens with a striking perfume of cherry, raspberry, violets and vanilla. The palate delivers beautiful earthy no...tes that are gently lifted by delicious red fruits and completed by high-quality oak and silky tannins.

With its near perfect structure and long, smooth finish, it's no wonder this wine was awarded 95 points by James Halliday.

95 Points James Halliday , Wine Companion

“Manages to have the best of both worlds with its beautifully etched and juicy fruit, yet backed by the structure one expects from top class cabernets. There is fruit in abundance matched by high quality oak and tannins, the length, finish and aftertaste all harmoniously balanced.”
