Tasting Notes

This wine was created using mostly fruit grown on their home vineyard in Murrumbateman with small parcels of fruit from Long Rail Gully and Quarry Hill. 2013 is considered one of the best vintages on record for Murrumbateman.

The wine has all the spice, red fruits, perfume, brightness and silky tannins that one would expect with Canberra Syrah but the most defining character of this wine is its purity and poise. The brightness and structure of this wine will ensure it is a very long lived wine and will reward cellaring.

92 Points Campbell Mattinson , Wine Companion

“Succulent, lively red with cranberry, sweet-sour cherry, walnut and dark chocolate characters all pulling in unison. Black jelly bean notes add extra oomph, and seduction. It sits on the lighter side of medium-weight, and is built on acidity as much as on fruit, the end result as much refreshing as complex. ”
